At this point, there is no telling how many times I’ve rewatched Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, this time around, I thought I’d do something a little different… I decided to do a series of episodic wallpapers for each season. This is a fun way to capture some of my favorite moments and scenes, as well as the feel of the episode itself, and I have LOVED this little challenge I’ve created for myself!
Season 1 of Buffy gets a lot of hate in the Buffy fandom, because of the one-off episodes and the horrible effects. However, I always like to remind my fellow fans that they had a very small budget, and at the time the show was filmed they had no idea if they’d get picked up for a new season, so they didn’t want to dive too deeply into backstories and character development. I think they did the best with what they had, and I actually really enjoy Season 1; my only gripe is that I wish we’d gotten to see more of the characters from Season 1 later into the series, for continuity’s sake.
I have finished my Season 1 wallpapers, and they are all up on the Art page of the site. I will eventually go in and reorganize the albums so that the episodic ones are in order by episode, instead of the most recent piece done.
